Missions & Ministry Application for Consideration to Participate in the 2025 Great Commission Sunday

The Deadline to Submit Applications for Consideration is August 10, 2025

All applications must be submitted using this form. If approved for consideration, additional detail may be requested, and a meeting with the appropriate ministry committee or elders may be required. Each application must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for participation, and it will be beneficial if you review our prioritization guidelines below. As a reminder, participants are only approved for a single year, and no assumptions should be made regarding future support.
The principles adopted by the GCS committee and approved by our elders include the following:
  • From our mission statement . . . Intentionally connected to God, His Word, His world, and each other.
  • Requests will be measured by this goal:  To continue Jesus' mission to seek and save the lost, thus connecting others to God and His world by supporting evangelistic efforts, the sending of evangelists and the making of disciples.  We will connect to His world and one another by going into the world, into our neighborhoods, thereby heeding the Lord's call to make disciples of all nations.
  • Requests must represent a work currently not supported in our budget and a ministry of the church of Christ.
The following statements represent guidelines used to prioritize requests and determine the ones that will benefit from our special offering.

  1. Requests should clearly involve evangelism, the sending of a messenger with the message of God will receive the highest priority.
  2. We will normally not fund the following:
    • Requests for the purchase of land, buildings or vehicles.
    • Requests for special building projects.
    • Requests for an individual's schooling or higher education.
    • Requests for budget shortfalls.
    • Requests to support the normal administrative/operational budget of an organization.
  3. Requests that provide clear, measurable results and effectiveness will be given greater consideration.
