The Mission
We work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of communication between eldership and congregation, between various groups within the congregation—and between the congregation and our community.
Church Bulletin
Although the ministry staff is responsible for publishing the weekly bulletin, it is included in our budget, so we provide oversight or input when needed. Without being intrusive, we help insure the best use of this information tool.
Congregational News & Events
Beyond the content of the bulletin, we help promote the work of ministries, important events, and individual efforts to advance the cause of Christ. And we encourage the use of social media as well as print and video to keep members informed.
Online Presence
As of 2017, we began creating both print and video introductions to our ministries and sub-ministries. These introductions are a first step in building what we hope will be a consistently updated repository of news and features on how our members are serving God and their fellow human beings.
Communicating with our Community
Our efforts to let the Searcy community know about what we offer its people have been sporadic, but we stand ready to assist any other ministry or our church staff in their efforts to promote an event or tell a story. We want to be more systematic in our efforts to show our fellow citizens how we are interacting with and helping them.
Transparency in the Congregation
The elders are committed to being as transparent as possible in their oversight of the congregation, including decision-making. The monthly bulletin insert with notes from elders meetings is the most prominent example of this commitment. Members of our ministry serve to help suggest and craft such news or announcements when needed.
A Congregation-Wide Partnership
Our ministry bears the name "communications," but we can only facilitate the vital activity of informing our church family. All members are necessarily communicators, and the need to share information is vital to the spiritual health of our body.
You can help us by doing what many ministries already have: take the initiative to tell others about what you do. But you can also reach out to us for help in spreading your news. We welcome requests for help in writing, editing, creating videos, or formulating ideas for your communication needs.
When Paul says in Romans 10:15, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news," he is speaking of the gospel, but the principle applies to what we do in the name of that gospel. Let's be partners in the spreading of our "good news."
