WHO WE ARE
"The purpose of our upper elementary ministry is to lead pre-teens toward Christ during a very important part of their maturational journey. We use the REAL model: Relationships, Experience, Application, and Learning. Engaging and practical Bible class topics, middle-school youth rallies, Lads to Leaders, and fellowship outside of the classroom all promote Christian learning, relationships, and experiences."

Cradle Roll
Our children's Bible classes start at four months of age in our Cradle Roll hallway. Classes are offered for ages 4-35 months during the Bible class hour on Sunday morning. Because we want to impress on our children how to continually seek a relationship with our Savior, we identify our children in preschool and early elementary as "Sonseekers".

Children's Worship
Children's Worship is dismissed after the Lord's Supper during our worship service for children ages three through first grade. It is a time of age-appropriate worship, including singing, prayer, and a short devotional. Children are taken to their Bible classes by Children's Worship volunteers immediately following Children's Worship.

CHILDREN'S WORSHIP
CULTIVATING A LOVE FOR JESUS.
"Children’s Worship is designed for kids ages 3 through 1st grade who are learning what it means to worship God and how meaningful it can be in their lives. Our leaders share age-appropriate Bible stories using puppets, visual aids, black-light stories, and digital clips to help children understand and engage. Our hope is that, by the time they reach 2nd grade, they’ll be excited to join their families in worship—carrying with them a strong foundation and a love for gathering to worship each week."

MEET THE MINISTERS

Kerri Behel
Children's Minister
"Hi! I’m the Children’s Minister at College Church, a role I’ve been blessed to serve in since 2011. I work with children from birth through third grade, and my responsibilities include recruiting dedicated volunteer teachers and leaders, as well as overseeing and maintaining our curriculum.
Outside of ministry, I enjoy playing tennis, running, and coaching cheerleading. I’m also a wife to my amazing husband, Alex, and a mom to three grown children and a wonderful son-in-law. Alex and I both graduated from Harding University in 2000.
Over the years, this position has helped build hundreds of relationships with our incredible volunteers, and I can truly attest to their deep love for our children and their commitment to helping them grow in God’s Word. It brings me great joy each week to minister alongside them—and alongside you, as parents—as we work together to raise children who walk in the way of God."

Upper Elementary Minister
"I have been teaching Bible classes since 1980 when I was a freshman at Harding University and have never stopped since! I am a retired band director who enjoys the freedom of doing only the things I love, which includes working as the upper elementary director and coordinator of College Church’s Lads to Leaders program.
My other interests are coaching my grandkids in basketball, teaching music lessons, judging and clinicing bands, conducting the White County Community Band, writing about music and the Bible, training for marathons and Ironman events, coaching quiz bowl at Harding Academy, working as an adjunct professor at Harding and Arkansas State, and taking relaxing trips with my wife Ronda."
