Benevolence Ministry

The Mission

His House exists to carry out the biblical mandate to feed the hungry, clothe the needy, and do good in the name of Jesus (Matt. 25:35-36, Gal. 2:10, Acts 20:35)

The Work

This ministry is the major benevolent enterprise of the College Church of Christ. Its 70 workers gather, store, display, and distribute food, clothing, and housewares to needy people in White County. The goods are stored in a 10,000 square-foot building on the corner of Moore and Grand in Searcy, and are distributed on Monday and Thursday each week at 12:30 P.M. The name of the "house" and of the ministry refers to Jesus, and suggests the goal of those involved: to represent His spirit of giving in the 21st century.

Disaster Relief

The Mission

We're trying to be the "hands and feet of Jesus," by helping the victims of disasters clean up and restore their damaged homes and offer hope for their wounded spirits.

The Work

It depends on the type of event, but the job usually consists of helping individual homeowners by cleaning up the debris from wind or water (inside or outside the home) and repairing some of the damage to the internal structure.
